Well, there's my van. She's not much, but she is a blessing to me. God is good, all the time.
When I got the van, I was hurting for a car. Oh, I needed one, and I didn't care what kind, just a dependable car. I tried and tried to come up with the money. Finally, in January, I said "That's it. I need a car. I have $1200, and I have got to find something." So I prayed about it, of course. And looked, and waited, and trusted God. I found this here, and it had a price on it that was more than $1200, I don't remember how much. I just asked God, "Well, if it's meant to be, you'll make the way." I called the guy, and asked him if the price was firm. He said "Well, I could go as low as $1200." Bless God. When I took the test drive, I barely got on the road before I knew this was the car God was giving me. Yes, it had a miss, and yes, the seats are ragged. No, she's not the prettiest thing on the road, but this is the car God was providing me with. Bless God and here's your money, friend. I told the people selling it to me that God was providing it, and it would be a good car for me.
I have said since I have owned this van that I know God will keep it running for at least as long as I need Him to keep it running, and I know that is true. It has never broken down on me, has always gone. Sometimes it does lurch unexpectedly (Ha ha!) and sometimes it hesitates, but it keeps on going. I have no doubt that it will keep going until there is a reason it needs to quit, whether that be that God has another one for me, that He has given me the money for a 'nicer' car, or that I don't need a car.
As I was driving the three hours to Austin this last week, with the car totally loaded down, and as that car ran the best it has ever run, I realized again, that God will keep that car running. I just felt so blessed, and at peace.
My mother used to name her cars. I think I've named a few of mine, I'm not sure. But now, I have named this one. She's Grace. So I have quit saying 'Come on car' when she needs a little encouragement. Now I say 'Come on, Gracie!' LOL

LOL, Julie, do you remember that I used to have a car I named Grace many years ago? I don't remember what kind, but I remember the name, and the idea, by the Grace of God. Oh, do check the transmission oil, if you haven't recently, make sure that miss is not just a low fluid level.
Ha! Okay, Jane, now that you mention it, was that that old '63 Mercury Marauder you had when I first got to CA? That was actually a great car when you think about it.
It may have been, Julie, I do remember it being a white car, probably a coupe. So yes, probably was that Marauder.
Looks like a good van. I've always been of a mind that if it moves on it's own it does not need to be the biggest or the best:)Dependable is the point and a gift from God--even better!
